In one of many proven case studies, a study of asthma frequency and severity for patients with either a dust free or untouched bedroom, the findings indicate the urgency of environmental control. Those with dust-free bedrooms reported a total of 10 hours of wheezing and 5 doses of salbutamol, wheras the subjects whose rooms were untouched reported a total of 330 hours of wheezing and 224 doses of medication, including salbutamol, theophylline, and prednisone.
